Gateway Arts District

The Gateway Arts District is a $70 million initiative along Route One (Rhode Island Avenue) that includes:

  • 150 affordable live/work units for lower-income artists
  • The Mount Rainier Artists’ Lofts/ArtSpace project
  • The Housing Initiatives Partnership/HIP Artist Housing (Mount Rainier and Hyattsville’s Renaissance Square Artist Housing)
  • More than 30,000 square feet of commercial space
  • The Gateway Arts Center - A community visual arts center with galleries & studio space
