The Prince George’s African American Museum and Cultural Center will be constructed on a 3
acre site on Rhode Island Avenue in North Brentwood, MD. The town was the first municipality in Prince
George’s County incorporated by African American citizens. The museum will be an anchor project in the Gateway
Arts District. The state-of- the art facility will be characterized by innovative architectural and environmental design
and will house a variety of galleries, classrooms, meeting spaces and a theater. Construction is expected to begin within
the next few years…..
